USS Zumwalt’s crew rescued fisherman during its sea trials

A captain of a fishing boat became the first person to be rescued by USS Zumwalt on Dec. 12.

The Coast Guard had determined that it was not possible to hoist the man from the deck of his fishing boat and the Navy destroyer step up by sending a small boat to transfer the sick person to the ship and let the HH-60 land and bring him to a hospital on shore.
