Indonesia still undecided on which submarine design to choose

The Indonesian Navy is still reviewing offers from three submarine vendors, Navy Chief of Staff, Admiral Ade Supandi said. According to him, it’ll be some time before a winner is selected.

Russia, Germany and South Korea are in the race to build submarines for Jakarta. Earlier this year, a Navy spokesman said the Kilo-class has been selected. The new statement by the Navy chief has refuted the claim.

Back in 2011, Indonesia ordered three Chang Bogo-class submarines from South Korea.
