At the moment, T-14 Armata battle tanks and T-15 Armata heavy infantry fighting vehicles (IFV) are protected from RPGs and anti-missiles using the Afganit active protection system. However, the enemy can overwhelm the system by a barrage of projectiles or by jamming its radar detectors. Now, Russia has decided to upgrade the Afganit with Ultraviolet (UV) detectors, which has a lower false detection rate.
