Indian Army cleared to buy 145 M777s

The Indian Army has secured a green light from the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) on Jun. 25 to buy 145 M777 howitzers.

The purchase will be done via the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) route.

Twenty-five guns will be made by BAE Systems while the rest will be assembled at the proposed Assembly Integration and Test facility.
