A Turkish Admiral working at the headquarters of NATO’s Allied Command Transformation in Norfolk, Virginia is said to be seeking asylum in the United States as the Turkish government had issued a detention order for him.
The Turkish embassy in Washington has identified the officer as Rear Admiral Mustafa Ugurlu.
