The French Navy will upgrade three of its Mistral LHDs by replacing two 20 mm 20F2 cannons on each ship with two Nexter Systems NARWHAL 20B remote weapon stations.

Mistral (L9013), Tonnerre (L9014), and Dixmude (L9015) will also each gain two Sagem Electro-Optical Multifunction System – New Generation (EOMS-NG) day-night, gyro-stabilised, infra-red search-and-track optronic systems.
