Russia will sell three Admiral Grigorovich-class frigates to India as they lacked the turbine engines to power the ships, due to an arms embargo from Ukraine.

Russia managed to secure the Zorya-Mashproyekt gas-turbine engines for first three ships of this class. An indigenous engine for the ships won’t be ready till 2019.
A source in the Russian defense industry told Jane’s that India can import the gas-turbines directly from Ukraine and have them installed on the ships once they are transported from Yantar Shipyard to India.
