Sixteen veterans from the 2nd Missile Battalion, 71st Artillery Regiment, U.S. Army gathered at the Air Defense Artillery (ADA) Museum, Fort Sill to see the exhibit of their deployment to Taiwan in 1958-59.

The deployment, during the second Taiwan Straits Crisis, was important as it was the first expeditionary missile battalion deployed for a combat mission.
A total of 704 men defended Taipei using the Nike Hercules surface-to-air missiles.

According to Nikkei, the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) will increase the number of aerail refueling missions once the Boeing KC-46A is inducted into service in fiscal 2016.

Japanese tankers will being to refuel USMC V-22s and carrier-borne aircraft from CVW-5 in the near future.

Russia now has a naval base at Tartus and an aviation presence at Latakia, 90 kilometers away.

U.S. President Obama said Moscow and Washington have reached an agreement on how to avoid any air conflicts between their military aircraft while flying over Syria.

Lockheed Martin spokesman Joe LaMarca told Reuters that his company has reached a verbal agreement with the U.S. Air Force on a five-year contract to build 83 C-130Js for the Air Force, Coast Guard and Marine Corps.
