U.S. Air Force Reserve, Air National Guard KC-135s to get anti-missile system

Northrop Grumman has been awarded a $31.7 million contract to deliver three anti-missile system pods for the U.S. Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve Command’s KC-135 aircraft.

The third-generation pod is based on the Northrop Grumman Guardian system, which is derived from the Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasures (LAIRCM) Block 30.

JMSDF P-3C deployed to Palawan, Philippines for first time; to fly over South China Sea

For the first time, Japan has deployed one of its P-3C maritime patrol aircraft to Palawan, Philippines for an exercise. The aircraft, along with 20 personnel arrived on Jun. 21.

Today, the aircraft from JMSDF Kanoya Air Base will take along Philippine military personnel for a search and rescue exercise in the South China Sea.

Russia unveiled the 9K333 Verba manportable air defense system (MANPADS) at Army-2015 international forum and declared it as the best in the world.

The anti-air missile is the first of its type to be equipped with a three-channel seeker that collects data from the ultraviolet, near infrared and middle infrared bands.
The manufacturer claims that response time has been reduced from minutes to seconds with this new weapon.
