Indonesia’s Navy is modeling itself after the U.S. Pacific Fleet, by having a main fleet that could deploy to meet demands from the nation’s east, west and central regions.

Chief-of-Staff Admiral Ade Supandi told Bloomberg that he hoped to build the fleet to 100 to 150 ships in order to patrol the country’s vast maritime territories.
