Thailand will deploy LST HTMS Angthong to the Andaman Sea to provide humanitarian assistance to boat refugees coming from Myanmar and Bangladesh.
Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said the Endurance-class ship will act as a floating base for helicopters and Thai police.
Any refugee boats found will be lead to the ship for assistance.
