The Pentagon has issued a directive to arm both USS Freedom and USS Coronado with unspecified anti-ship missiles before they deploy.

Sources say both the Boeing Harpoon and Kongsberg Naval Strike Missile (NSM) are being considered.
To speed up the installation, the missiles are not required to be fully integrated with the LCS combat system. They will fit in box launchers as well.
