Overhauled Ka-31s delivered to Indian Navy

The first two Kamov Ka-31 AEW helicopters for the Indian Navy has been overhauled in Russia and redelivered back the customer by Russian Helicopters.

The Indian Navy has nine such helicopters and six of those required overhauls to keep them serviceable.

Obama administration approves Singapore’s 60 F-16C/D/D+ upgrade program

The U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency has notified Congress on the potential upgrade of 60 Singapore F-16C/D/D+ fighters. This notification contains additional requirements not previously identified in congressional notification 13-67.

The additional items include 50 Joint Helmet-Mounted Cueing System and 90 AN/APX-126 Advanced Identification Friend or Foe Interrogator/Transponders.

France may scuttle Russia’s 2 Mistral-class LHDs

French daily Le Figaro reported that Paris may consider scuttling the two Mistral-class LHDs that were ordered by Russia.

“Among the possible course of actions which is being considered by the French government is the possibility of the helicopter ships being destroyed. They will be dismantled, remodeled or sunk in the open sea,” an anonymous French official told the paper.

Northrop Grumman unveils AESA radar for B-1B

Northrop Grumman has unveiled the Scalable Agile Beam Radar – Global Strike (SABR-GS) for the B-1B bomber during an event at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas.

The company says the SABR-GS is nearly three times the size of the APG-83 fitted to the F-16.
