German government has publicly rebuked its own foreign intelligence agency

The German government was forced to distance itself from an assessment of Saudi Arabia’s foreign policy by its own foreign intelligence agency.

The BND wrote that the current Saudi government was becoming more “impulsive.” The report was particularly critical of Saudi defense minister, Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

“What was previously a cautious diplomatic stance of the elder leaders in the royal family is being replaced by an impulsive policy of intervention,” the briefing said.
